Dalmatian puppies and dogs are very lively and fun-loving. This is very excitable breed so training is very important from an early age to ensure that they grow into well-behaved, obedient adult dogs. The Dalmatian has a loving, charming and affectionate personality and temperament. They are very playful and will require a backyard with enough space for them to play around. This breed of puppy and dog has a lot of energy and will therefore require high amounts of daily exercise; at least two hours per day. This is an athletic dog and would suit an owner that could take them out running or jogging. The Dalmatian was originally bred as a coach dog to run alongside horses so this is the reason why they are naturally fit and require a lot of exercise. Their grooming needs are manageable as they have short coats, which shed lightly all year round, and will therefore need to be brushed, thoroughly, once per week.
