Komondor puppies and dogs are very serious and dedicated. The Komondor was bred to protect and live along livestock, sometimes having to fight off ferocious animals such as wolves. This breed has a very unique coat! It is very long, around 20-27cms, and very heavy. In fact, the Komondor has the heaviest coat of all breeds. The coat is white and corded resembling dreadlocks. The coat helps to protect the dog when it is guarding the livestock as its thick enough to protect against animal attacks and bites, as well as protecting it through rough weather conditions. This breed of puppy must be trained from an early age as it is naturally a dominant and protective breed. The temperament of this breed will become well-balanced and accepting if it is provided with firm obedience training from a young puppy. Owners should allow strangers to handle their puppy so that it learns to accept unfamiliar people when it becomes an adult dog.
